The Faculty of Medicine, a key player at the 5th Santander Alumni UdL Awards

Projects led by graduates of the Faculty of Medicine stand out for their innovation and commitment to health and regional development.

In the fifth edition of the Santander Alumni UdL Awards for Entrepreneurship and Employment, two special recognitions, without financial endowment, were granted to Blok – Cuina de barri, from theRecoop cooperative, promoted by graduates in Human Nutrition and Dietetics Laura Matías-Guiu Martí and Lourdes Tecchia Sotelo, and to the multispecialty medical center Clínic Lleida, led by graduates David García Belmonte (Medicine), Jaume Pelegrí Gabarró (Medicine), and Xavier Querol Monico (Labour Relations).

Regarding the special mentions, the jury explained that Blok – Cuina de barri “promotes healthy, sustainable, and accessible food, as well as community activities in the Mariola neighbourhood of Lleida,” while Clínic Lleida offers “comprehensive healthcare services based on technological innovation and personalised patient care.”

As for the first prize, the award went to the project CaLagneta – Art i Vi, led by Montserrat Rocaginé Comelles, a graduate in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Lleida (UdL). The initiative, which combines contemporary art, wine, and local gastronomy, was recognised at the award ceremony held on Thursday evening at the Rectorate building.
