Dr. Joan Viñas, former rector of the University of Lleida from 2003 to 2011, presented yesterday at the Faculty of Medicine his book Hospital Arnau de Vilanova de Lleida. From health residence to university hospital. Chronicle of a hospital doctor: 1977–2003.

The publication recounts the evolution of Lleida’s main reference hospital, which went from operating under precarious conditions to undergoing a process of modernisation and expanding both its services and technology.

The presentation event, which gathered a large audience at the Faculty of Medicine, revisited some of the key moments in the history of the Arnau hospital, as well as the challenges and transformations that have shaped its growth over more than two decades.
